During a tour of the memorial site at 3 p.m., visitors learn about the historic site and its history. They discover architectural remnants from the various periods of detention and learn why people were imprisoned and sentenced here between 1933 and 1989. By embedding the specific local history within its broader historical context, the tour provides an overview of political and racial persecution in 20th-century Germany.
