This year’s Open Monument Day on September 11, 2022 has the motto “CultureTrace. A case for monument protection”. Like no other building in the heart of Potsdam, the Lindenstrasse prison and judiciary complex unites local great moments of democracy with the darkest chapters of German dictatorship history. On the day of the open monument, visitors can get to know this eventful history of the building complex on the basis of guided tours (in German). The eye is repeatedly drawn to the building and the relics as well as architectural traces of earlier use.
